Established in 1974, Standrite has been in business for almost forty years.

Overview

Standrite has evolved over the years from a modest fencing business dealing predominantly with chainwire and weldmesh to a leading architectural metal worker specialising in tubular and wrought iron fencing, driveway gates, front entry gates, side gates, steel and glass pool fencing, privacy and sun screens. Standrite is also a leading authority on balustrades and handrails. We have grown to offer our clients the latest technology in gate automation for swing and sliding gates. Our diverse range of products is complemented by our proud partnership as an agent for Loc-it screens and Malibu aluminium shades. Our products are suited to all applications from residential to commercial and are frequently sourced by builders, developers, government departments, private and public schools, child care centres, universities, retirement villages and body corporate companies.

Scott Sommerville- Managing Director

Managing Director Scott Sommerville is the quintessential success story riding his bike to work as the labourer/ factory hand at the age of 16 after school and on weekends. Once gaining his Higher School Diploma, he worked at Standrite as a part time Sales Representative during further studies. Ten years later he was appointed Manager and after twenty years bought the business continuing to work here to this day.

Rod Ferguson- Senior Project Manager

Rod is recognised as one of the most respected Metalwork estimators in Melbourne. Rod manages his own metal work projects through to completion, having experience in the industry since 1978 in both domestic and commercial projects his dedication to providing outstanding service to clients has resulted in the development of a busy, vibrant portfolio.  He prides himself on his keen eye for detail and ability to meet his clients needs. He is trained in auto CAD and uses this method extensively to do shop drawings.

Paul Dernelley- Sales Manager

Paul Dernelley has been our sales manager for the past 13 years. He has a Diploma in Project Management which helps him understand our customers needs, and the importance of coordinating the project through to it’s completion. Paul has also completed a course in Auto CAD drawing methods which he often uses to design our clients projects. He has a vast knowledge of Standrite’s products and would be happy to discuss your requirements.
